Adventures at Flowers Landing
Boating
Flowers Landing is located in the heart of the North Carolina Inner Banks. The Inner Banks and Intracoastal Waterway are world-renowned for boating. Whether you’re heading out on a stand up paddle board or a yacht, the dock at Flowers Landing has you covered. The marinas of Belhaven and Bath are both an easy cruise away.
Fishing
The brackish waters of the Pungo river provide a unique opportunity to fish for both freshwater and saltwater fish at the same time.
Flounder, Trout and Red Drum provide excellent shore dining.
Seasonally, you can even catch big game fish. In the fall, 50+ pound Bull Drum swim up the Pungo river. In the summer, 100+ pound Tarpon follow the Intracoastal Waterway right past Flowers Landing and provide great sport fishing in the area.
Catch Your Own Shrimp or Crab Dinner
Try your hand at throwing a cast net and catching your own shrimp dinner or check the crab boxes under the dock for today’s blue crab catch.
Swimming, Paddle Boarding and Kayaking
The Pungo river is over two miles wide, providing plenty of room to go for a swim, paddle board or kayak adventure right off the dock.
There are many areas with a firm, sandy bottom that are less than 4 feet deep, allowing for safe fun in the water. There are no riptides, sharks or gators to worry about, although you may encounter a group of friendly porpoises from time to time.
Sailing, Wind Surfing and SeaDoos
The usually calm waters of the Inner Banks and the 2+ mile width of the Pungo river provide the ideal backdrop for sailing, wind surfing and riding personal watercraft, even for beginners.
Hunting
With 248 acres of private hunting land directly across the Pungo River, there are endless hunting opportunities from hiding out in a duck blind to tracking a trophy black bear.
Nature Tours
The natural world really comes alive around Flowers Landing. Our hunting reserve is watched over by our resident Bald Eagle, a Great Horned Owl and a mating pair of Ospreys.
Go on a half-day guided adventure of Sandy Point Private Reserve with Captain Peter Boettger of Machapunga Ecotours. Enjoy 250 acres of private land, miles of trails and wildlife around every turn.

Lawn Games
The expansive, lush gardens around the property provide a beautiful backdrop for lawn games from bocce to volleyball.
Yoga
Your own private outdoor sunrise yoga studio is right outside your front door.
Outdoor Dining

Fire Pit
Spend some time self-reflecting or enjoy a drink with friends around the gigantic Flowers Landing fire pit.
Belhaven Marina
Why drive to town for a gourmet meal when you can boat there? Belhaven Marina is just 10 minutes away by water. Enjoy steaks or seafood at Jack’s Tavern and then head next door to the Bourbon Bar for an after dinner cocktail.
Ocracoke, North Carolina
Day trips by boat can be made to some of the most well-known locations on the East Coast — all accessible through the Inner Banks without going in to the open Atlantic.
One of the best known is Ocracoke, which is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Flowers Landing, directly across the Pamlico Sound.
Ocracoke is on the Outer Banks with the Pamlico Sound on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other.
Historic Beaufort & Morehead City
Named by Travel + Leisure as “America’s Favorite Town,” Beaufort is just two hours away by boat, protected by the Outer Banks the entire way.
Dock your boat at a downtown marina and stroll through charming shops or enjoy a meal at an award-wining seafood restaurant while overlooking the water.
Spend another 15 minutes on the water and you can dock in Morehead City, a bustling coastal town that hosts many large events throughout the year, including the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament and the North Carolina Seafood Festival.
Historic Bath, North Carolina
North Carolina’s oldest town, Bath was incorporated in 1705.
Bath is home to North Carolina’s oldest church and many period homes.
Bath’s most popular resident was Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard. The infamous pirate settled in Bath in 1718 after gaining a royal pardon from the Crown in an attempt to send him into retirement. Spoiler alert: it didn’t work.
Today, Bath is best known for heritage tourism, water-based recreation and sport fishing.
